#112 The Little Red Wimzie
|
All the kids except Wimzie are in a lazy mood. Wimzie attempts
to get her friends to do something but with rain coming, there
is no convincing them. Graziella tells Wimzie that when she
was little she used to make a tent in the yard and watch the
rain from inside. It is a lot of work for one kid, but Wimzie
does it herself and has fun. The others would like to join her
in the tent but Wimzie doesn't really think they deserve it.
After all, she did all the work. Graziella explains that Wimzie
has the right to decide what she wants to do with the tent she
built. Eventually, Wimzie invites them in and they have a warm,
dry and fun time in the rain. Wimzie takes a lesson from the
story "The Little Red Hen."

Extended Learning Activities |
Option
1: Make a Tent (Construction Activity)
Materials required: A large sheet, three or four chairs |
|
Give the children a large sheet
and chairs and ask them to cooperate and build a tent together.
Let them plan how to build the tent. Where will it go? Who
will do which job? Who will take down the tent when it is
time? After the children have built their tent, give them
time to play in it.
|
Option 2: Our Rainy Day List (Discussion Activity and/or Art
Activity)
Materials required: None (optional: paper, crayons/markers) |
