#117 Bo Goes Bonkers!

Bo is busy walking, climbing and getting into mischief. Yaya has to watch him full time, which means that she can't make the special puppets she promised the kids. Disappointed, they offer to look after Bo while Yaya finishes the puppets. Yaya agrees and the children are genuinely responsible with Bo, keeping an eye out for him and playing with him. But toddlers move even faster than the best intentioned kid and they lose track of him. Yaya resumes watching Bo. But he climbs out of his crib at nap time and makes a lot of mischief, including turning on the tub water. While Yaya cleans up the mess, Bo grabs a pair of her scissors. The kids take them away from him and he begins to cry. Yaya thinks his tears are a result of the kids' carelessness, but when they tell her what happened, she realizes that they understand very well the importance of watching younger siblings.

Extended Learning Activities
Option 1: Paper Bag Puppets (Art and Dramatic Play Activities)
Materials required: small paper bags, crayons or markers

Remind the children how the kids at Wimzie's House wanted Yaya to finish making their puppets. Tell the children that you have a fun and easy way for them to make their own puppets. Give each child a small paper bag. Show them how to turn the paper bags into puppets. Have the children design their own puppets. They may want to make their favorite Wimzie's House character, storybook character or invent their own. If time permits, have the children act out their favorite parts of the show.

Option 2: My Responsibilities (Discussion Activity)
Materials required: None
Remind the children that in "Bo Goes Bonkers" the children learn that they are not old enough to take care of Baby Bo. What are some other ways that Wimzie, Horace, Jonas and Loulou can help the grown-ups at Wimzie's House? What are some things you can do to help the grown-ups in your house? Ask the children if they have helping jobs at home or school.
