#123 The Assistant Grown-up
|
Wimzie is tired of going to bed early and doing kid things.
She thinks it would be so much better to be a grown up. Yaya
says that tomorrow Wimzie can be her assistant grown-up. Wimzie
is thrilled until she realizes that she can't join the others
in the fun things they're doing because she has to help Yaya
with the chores and responsibilities. Meanwhile, her friends
are having a great time playing detective and investigating
something that's missing. Wimzie watches from the sidelines,
doing grown-up stuff. She eventually realizes that it's good
to be a kid when you're a kid, just as it's good to be a grown-up,
when you're a grown-up.

Option 2: Dress Up Like a Grown-up (Role Play Activity)
|
| If
you don't already have a dress-up corner with costumes and props,
have the children bring in old adult clothing. Tell the children
to think of an adult that they would like to be. Have the children
talk about this adult and why they have chosen him/her. Set
aside some time for the children to pretend to be their chosen
adult. They can role-play with the others or they can make believe
by themselves. |
