#201 Mighty Monster Power Piggies
For the last few
days, the children have been playing "Mighty Monster Power
Piggies." Today, however, Wimzie is tired of the game and
asks the others to stop being Piggies and quits herself.
The others keep on even when Wimzie invents a good game
for them. Lonely, Wimzie turns to Yaya who advises her to
find something she enjoys doing alone, like t'ai chi as
Yaya is doing. Wimzie retreats to the living room, does
her own version of t'ai chi. Loulou joins her, as do the
others one by one, realizing that they too were tired of
being robotic Power Piggies.

Option 1: T'ai chi (Movement
Activity)
Materials required: Relaxing, gentle music (best without words) |
| Put on
the music. Ask the children to join you in Yaya's and Wimzie's
t'ai chi movements. Lead them with gentle, fluid movements and
stretches. Allow them to create their own movements. Encourage
not talking but letting the music "talk" to them. Continue as
long as they are interested. |
Option 2:Think of Something Quiet* (Relaxation Activity)
Materials required: None |
|
Ask the children to sit in a comfortable
position on the floor in a circle, and close their eyes. Now,
"think of something quiet." After a minute, ask them to open
their eyes and each one report what they were thinking about.
